If you are a faithful Catholic or any Christian devoted to Our Lady, you do NOT want to buy this book. The author continually equates the Mother of the Lord with pagan goddesses. Her research is spotty at best, and at worst she completely misunderstands the meaning and purpose of genuine Catholic devotion. Instead she offers a shallow and chirpy invitation to encounter a New Age "divine feminine" figure that falsifies true devotion to Jesus through Mary as found best in the works of St. Louis de Montfort. Protestants: do not assume that this book in any way represents the beliefs of Roman Catholics, or Orthodox Christians regarding the Blessed Virgin Mary -- it does not. This book is rife with the sort of disingenuous "pious piffle" that devalues the real goal of genuine Marian theology, which is always to lift up and focus true devotion to Jesus Christ, Son of God, as Savior and Lord. If you want to learn more about St. Mary, Mother of God, Theotokos, and our mother -- find a different book!
